how i grow fancy ficus from cuttings

ficus trade secret #1

when growing a plant from cuttings, normally you cut back leaves enough to reduce their water loss but not too much since the leaves supply the stem with the energy it needs to root.   here's 1 cutting of ficus auriculata and 4 cuttings of ficus timlada...

but instead of cutting back the leaves, i simply place them in 2 gallon zip lock bags...

i then place the bags indoors in front of big bright windows...

i've successfully used this technique with ficus dammaropsis...
